Job Description
Border Foods is one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, built on a foundation that began with two brothers' vision to open a Mexican restaurant. Today, Border Foods operates numerous Taco Bell locations, maintaining a deep commitment to their people-first culture and a strong family atmosphere. With a focus on teamwork, empowerment, integrity, and excellence, Border Foods places great emphasis on creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments where employees and guests alike can thrive. The company proudly embraces Core Values that drive their mission and daily operations including Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. This company culture fosters continual growth, learning, and development, and encourages employees to shape the future of their roles and the organization as a whole. Border Foods is committed to making lives better, not only through delivering great food but also by positively impacting its employees' and customers' experiences.
The General Manager role at Border Foods is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the complete operation and success of an individual restaurant. As a General Manager, you will embody and reinforce the company’s Core Values while building and guiding a high-performing team that consistently delivers exceptional food quality and friendly customer experiences. The position demands a motivated leader who can drive accountability, ensure safe and quality food service, maintain compliance with health and safety standards, and foster a positive and engaging workplace culture. You will be tasked with strategic planning, managing profit and loss statements, controlling labor and inventory costs, and minimizing losses to achieve financial targets. Developing talent through recruitment, training, coaching, and providing growth opportunities is a critical part of the role.
This role offers one of the industry’s most competitive compensation packages, including the potential to earn up to $100,000 annually, inclusive of base pay and significant bonus opportunities. In addition to monetary benefits, Border Foods rewards its top performers with unique incentives such as an annual trip to Mexico for the company’s “Best of the Best” General Managers. Employees enjoy comprehensive benefits packages, including medical, dental, and vision coverage available to all positions even part-time, as well as educational programs like tuition reimbursement, GED support, scholarships, free food, and paid time off options including vacation, sick and holiday pay. Border Foods values work-life balance and cultural inclusivity, offering vacation donation programs and fostering an incredible culture to support career growth.
The General Manager must also demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, as the exempt management role requires at least 50 hours per week, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. Candidates are expected to be ServeSafe certified, possess a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. The position’s physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout the workday, with accommodations available as needed.
Working at Border Foods means joining a team dedicated to collective success and personal development. You will be part of a dynamic company that is not only a major franchisee of Taco Bell but also a family-oriented business that takes pride in its diverse and inclusive workforce. The role offers an excellent opportunity for career advancement within the organization, supported by a culture of recognition and empowerment. If you are passionate about leading teams, delivering high quality customer service, and thriving in a fast-paced and evolving restaurant environment, this is the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the food industry and grow your career with Border Foods.
