We are currently seeking a driven, hospitality-focused General Manager to oversee and lead the daily operations of our tasting room, restaurant, and event space in West Chester. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences while managing staff performance, operational workflows, and financial outcomes. As General Manager, you will be expected to balance the warmth and personal touch of hospitality with the discipline of cost control, labor management, and compliance with cleanliness and safety standards.

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of front-of-house service, guest relations, dining room flow, reservations, and table management. You will manage scheduling, labor control, inventory, ordering, vendor communication, and the financial integrity of the day-to-day operations, including cash handling and financial reconciliation. Supporting clear communication across ownership, management, front-of-house, and back-of-house teams is critical, as is the ability to address guest concerns promptly and professionally. Staff training, coaching, and development in service excellence, menu and wine knowledge, and operational procedures will be under your direction, ensuring the team consistently delivers a polished, friendly, and knowledgeable service experience.

Beyond daily management, this role involves collaborating closely with ownership to drive initiatives that improve operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and team performance. The General Manager will be instrumental in implementing seasonal menu changes, special programming, private events, and other revenue-building efforts that align with the Turks Head Wines brand and business goals. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • lead daily restaurant and tasting room operations with professionalism and accountability
  • set clear expectations for staff and hold the team accountable to service, cleanliness, and performance standards

  • support communication between ownership, management, front-of-house, back-of-house, and events
  • handle guest concerns and service recovery with confidence and hospitality
  • manage scheduling, labor control, staffing levels, call-outs, and shift adjustments
  • support inventory, ordering, vendor communication, and cost management
  • ensure proper cash handling, deposits, comps, voids, discounts, and closing procedures
  • maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, facility upkeep, and overall presentation
  • train, coach, and develop staff on service standards, menu knowledge, wine knowledge, policies, and daily procedures
  • support menu changes, seasonal offerings, private events, special programming, and revenue-building initiatives
  • work closely with ownership to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, staff performance, and profitability
