Job Description

Border Foods began as an ambitious idea shared by two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has evolved into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. With a strong commitment to the community and its people, Border Foods operates with a people-first mantra that places the focus on its employees and customers alike. The company prides itself on cultivating a family atmosphere where employees at all levels—from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers—work together to uphold the Core Values that define Border Foods: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. This dedication is reflected in their mission to continually improve and make lives better for customers and employees.

At Border Foods, the role of a General Manager is vital to the success of each restaurant location. As a General Manager, you will be entrusted with reinforcing the Border Foods CORE values to foster a positive work environment and ensure exceptional service. This leadership position focuses not only on operational excellence but also on nurturing a team culture where everyone feels supported and motivated. The General Manager is responsible for the entire restaurant’s operation, overseeing all team members, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and creating an atmosphere where employees thrive and customers enjoy great food paired with a friendly experience.

This position offers lucrative compensation with the potential to earn up to $100,000 annually through competitive base pay complemented by a top-tier bonus program. In addition to financial rewards, Border Foods invests in its team members' growth through educational programs, GED and tuition reimbursement offerings, and scholarship opportunities. To celebrate outstanding performance, the company hosts an annual trip to Mexico for top-performing General Managers, highlighting their commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence.

The General Manager’s daily responsibilities include strategic planning, overseeing profit and loss statements, managing labor and inventory, and executing effective hiring and training programs. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented leader who can handle scheduling, coaching, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and customers. Embracing empowerment, you will build your team’s capabilities by providing continuous learning and development opportunities, actively coaching staff, and fostering a culture of recognition and growth.

Border Foods promises an incredible company culture that supports career advancement and personal development. The physical demands of the General Manager position include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout work hours. This exempt management role expects a commitment of at least 50 hours per week, with additional hours as needed to meet the operational demands of the restaurant. Border Foods prides itself on being an Equal Opportunity Employer, embracing diversity and inclusion. It is important to note that this employment is with a Taco Bell franchisee and not Taco Bell Corporation or any of its affiliates.

In summary, the General Manager at Border Foods has a unique opportunity to lead a team within one of the most respected Taco Bell franchise businesses in America. The position combines strong leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for cultivating a positive and thriving work environment—making it an ideal career path for individuals driven to grow with a company that truly values its people and provides meaningful rewards for their commitment and success.
