The General Manager will take the helm of daily restaurant operations, with responsibilities ranging from staffing and team development to sales growth and cost management. The role of General Manager at Zaxbys is a full-time position featuring competitive pay and bonus potential, with quarterly bonuses of up to 24% of the annual salary. The General Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the restaurant maintains high standards for service, product quality, and cleanliness.

Cost control is critical, requiring strict adherence to company policies and operational guidelines. The ability to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, along with company policies, is essential for this position. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation
  • open availability and ability to work a minimum of 5 days and 48 hours per week
  • ability to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • successful completion of background check and motor vehicle report
  • possess leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively
  • minimum education high school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • 3-5 years management experience required
  • restaurant management experience preferred
  • ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously
  • occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or climb including use of ladders
  • frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds including overhead lifting
  • continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and manipulation
  • communicate proficiently in speech, reading, and writing
  • maintain effective audio-visual perception
  • work in environments with hot and cold temperature variations and food allergens
  • operate restaurant equipment safely including knives and fryers

Job Duties

  • Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys General Manager Development Plan and Operations Excellence Capstone Class
  • obtain Food Safety Certification and Manager Certification
  • ensure the restaurant delivers great guest experiences
  • manage staffing by sourcing, interviewing, hiring, retaining, and recognizing top performers
  • train and mentor team members while holding them accountable
  • create effective work schedules to drive sales and control labor costs
  • plan and delegate shift assignments with clear communication
  • uphold service, product quality, and cleanliness standards
  • foster positive culture and team morale through leadership and example
  • manage profitability by driving sales, controlling costs, and maintaining operational standards
  • build community relationships to increase sales
  • control costs and losses following company guidelines and policies
  • complete performance reviews for crew and assist with manager reviews
  • ensure compliance with all laws and company policies
  • keep accurate management records
  • review performance metrics daily and develop action plans for improvement
  • handle guest and team member complaints in a respectful manner
  • maintain flexibility beyond the position description
  • ensure team safety by following safety guidelines
  • escalate concerns to supervision when appropriate
  • perform all other duties necessary for restaurant operations
