Job Description

Border Foods is one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, a company that began as a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since grown into a highly successful and respected brand within the quick-service restaurant industry. Rooted deeply in a people-first philosophy, Border Foods emphasizes the importance of its team members at every level of operation—from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers. The company is dedicated to fostering a culture that values accountability, integrity, family, excellence, teamwork, and empowerment. This culture forms the foundation of Border Foods' mission to improve the lives of its employees and guests by creating welcoming, safe, and supportive environments in its restaurants. As a General Manager for Border Foods, you will be stepping into a dynamic leadership role that blends operational expertise with strong interpersonal skills. This role is vital in ensuring the restaurant's success by leading a committed team to consistently deliver excellent food and outstanding customer service. The General Manager will be responsible for the entire restaurant's operation, which includes managing staff, overseeing financial performance, maintaining health and safety standards, and cultivating a positive work environment. The company offers a highly competitive salary, with General Managers having the opportunity to earn between $50,000 and $100,000 annually, including base pay and generous bonus potential. Beyond financial compensation, Border Foods rewards its top-performing managers with notable perks such as an annual incentive trip to Mexico, educational programs including GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits available even to part-time employees. The culture at Border Foods supports continuous learning and career growth, offering coaching and development opportunities designed to unlock the full potential of each employee. The role requires strategic planning abilities, a deep understanding of financial management through profit and loss (P&L) statements, and effective team building. The successful General Manager must also demonstrate a commitment to upholding company values, fostering a teamwork-oriented environment, and maintaining strict adherence to all local, state, and federal laws and health regulations. This position expects a minimum of 50 hours of work per week, including flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs demand. It is an exempt management role that combines operational leadership with a mission to enhance customer and employee experiences alike. Border Foods strongly promotes diversity and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to inclusivity regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability status. Joining Border Foods means becoming part of a growing family dedicated to making lives better, while enjoying the benefits of an incredible workplace culture and top industry pay.
