Job Description
Border Foods began as a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since expanded to become one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. With a strong commitment to a people-first mantra, Border Foods emphasizes fostering an environment that values every team member, from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers. At Border Foods, the company culture is rooted in its Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These values create a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees are encouraged to grow, evolve, and contribute actively to the company’s mission of making lives better through excellent service and quality food.
The General Manager role at Border Foods is a vital leadership position focused on reinforcing the company’s Core Values while driving restaurant success. This is a full-time, exempt management position with a salary range from $50,000 to $100,000 annually, complemented by bonuses that can reach up to $40,000 per year. The position demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills to build a motivated, high-performing team that consistently delivers outstanding food and customer service.
As a General Manager, you will oversee the entire operation of the restaurant, ensuring health and safety standards, quality control, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws. You will be the driving force behind creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for both employees and guests. The role also involves using financial expertise to interpret P&L statements, manage labor and inventory efficiently, and deliver profitable operations. You will have the opportunity to support employee development through coaching, training, and career path guidance while maintaining an inclusive culture that fosters recognition and teamwork.
Border Foods offers an attractive rewards package for its General Managers, including top industry pay, an exciting annual trip to Mexico for top performers, education programs such as GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, medical, dental, and vision benefits available even for part-time employees, free food, paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, and a vacation donation program. The company deeply values career growth and provides an incredible culture that supports personal and professional development.
This position requires dedication, including the ability to work minimum 50 hours per week, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. It also requires ServeSafe certification, a valid driver’s license, and at least a high school diploma or equivalent. The role demands physical activity such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during work hours. Border Foods is committed to diversity and equal opportunity, proudly embracing minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities without discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation. Join the Border Foods family and be part of a thriving, dynamic team committed to culinary excellence and meaningful community impact.
