Job Description

Border Foods started as a simple idea between two brothers who wanted to open a Mexican restaurant. Over the years, this vision has grown substantially, becoming one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. Border Foods operates with a people-first mantra, emphasizing the well-being and development of every member of its team—from cooks to cashiers, restaurant managers, and beyond. The company prides itself on a culture that values its Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. This commitment creates a supportive and safe work environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally. Border Foods is headquartered in the United States and manages numerous Taco Bell restaurants, taking pride in delivering excellent food and service to its customers.

The General Manager role at Border Foods is a cornerstone of the organization’s success. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the complete operation of an individual restaurant, fostering a strong team culture that prioritizes delivering great food and a welcoming customer experience. As a General Manager, you will play a significant role in reinforcing the company’s values within the restaurant setting while ensuring that each team member is empowered and motivated to perform at their best. You will be instrumental in guiding team members and shift leaders to meet operational standards, manage schedules efficiently, and monitor performance to ensure quality service. Moreover, adherence to health, safety, and regulatory guidelines is critical to this role, along with utilizing financial data such as Profit & Loss statements to make informed operational decisions.

Beyond the operational duties, this role emphasizes the importance of family and teamwork. The General Manager acts as a unifier within the team, promoting positive relationships and effective communication. They address employee issues promptly and create a safe and supportive workplace for all. The position requires strategic planning and leadership skills to drive restaurant success through effective recruitment, training, and retention of top talent. Additionally, the General Manager will be responsible for coaching and developing team members, providing learning opportunities, and supporting career growth within the company.

Border Foods offers incredible incentives and benefits for their General Managers. The compensation includes an impressive salary range from $50,000 to $100,000 per year, featuring a base pay and a bonus program that allows for potential earnings of up to $40,000 annually in bonuses alone. The company also rewards top performers with exclusive trips to Mexico and offers education programs such as GED and tuition reimbursement, as well as scholarship opportunities. Employees at Border Foods gain access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, even for part-time positions. Additional perks include free food, paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay, and a vacation donation program. For anyone seeking a career with a company that values both its employees and customers while fostering an environment that encourages growth and excellence, Border Foods presents a remarkable opportunity.
