Job Description

Border Foods is a prominent and rapidly growing Taco Bell franchisee, recognized as one of the largest privately held franchise operators in the United States. Founded from a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant, the company has expanded into a significant force within the quick-service restaurant industry. With a strong emphasis on a people-first mantra, Border Foods fosters a family-like environment where employees from all levels—cooks, cashiers, restaurant managers, and beyondare valued and encouraged to learn, evolve, and contribute to the company mission of making lives better.

Border Foods operates based on a strong set of Core Values that include Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These values are deeply ingrained in the company culture and drive every aspect of daily operations and employee engagement. The company emphasizes creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments, not only for guests but also for its employees, enabling everyone to thrive and achieve their full potential. Border Foods is committed to providing career growth and educational opportunities, including GED and tuition reimbursement programs, scholarship options, and a recognition culture that fosters positive work experiences.

As a General Manager at Border Foods, your role is vital in embodying and reinforcing the company’s Core Values while leading the operational success of your restaurant. You will be responsible for the entire operation of the restaurant, including building and mobilizing a strong and motivated team to deliver consistently excellent food and friendly service. The General Manager's responsibilities span overseeing scheduling, staff development, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and providing strategic leadership to meet short-term and long-term goals.

This is a full-time, exempt management position expected to work a minimum of 50 hours per week with flexibility to meet the demands of the business. General Managers have the opportunity to earn competitive base pay ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 annually, plus the potential for bonuses that can add up to an additional $40,000 per year. In addition to a rewarding compensation package, Border Foods offers a number of unique benefits and incentives such as an annual trip to Mexico for top performers, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance even for part-time positions, free food during shifts, paid vacation, sick and holiday time off, and a vacation donation program.

The physical demands involved in this position include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during work hours, with reasonable accommodations provided as needed. The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to handle challenging situations with maturity, excellent communication abilities for engaging a diverse team, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and positive work environment. Health and food safety regulations are paramount, and General Managers must ensure the restaurant operates in full compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines.

Border Foods is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds including minorities, women, protected veterans, individuals with disabilities, and does not discriminate based on gender identity or sexual orientation. It’s important to note that this employment opportunity is with a franchisee of Taco Bell, not Taco Bell Corporation itself, meaning the franchisee independently manages wages and benefits. By joining Border Foods as a General Manager, you become part of a thriving company dedicated to excellence, empowerment, and making meaningful differences in the lives of employees and customers alike.
