This opportunity is with a prominent restaurant chain that is recognized for its commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences through a dynamic team-oriented approach. The company prides itself on cultivating a vibrant and inclusive culture, valuing equity and belonging, which is central to its operational philosophy. As a leader in the fast-casual dining sector, the establishment emphasizes employee development and recognizes the importance of creating a rewarding work environment for its management and team members alike. The restaurant has a strong reputation for encouraging career growth, professional development, and maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence compared to competitors. This role is classified as full-time with competitive compensation reflecting the responsibilities and expectations placed on the General Manager. The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000 annually, potentially varying based on location and the individual candidate's experience.
The position of Restaurant General Manager is central to the ongoing success and growth of the restaurant. In this role, you will lead by example, handpicking and training a team of employees capable of exceeding customer expectations. Your leadership will set the gold standard within the industry, creating a culture where employees are motivated to build successful careers through well-structured development programs. The role demands a hands-on manager who thrives in training and mentoring Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Team Member Trainers while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Daily responsibilities will include recruiting top talent, conducting orientations, and developing comprehensive training plans tailored to enhance team performance. You will be recognized as the catalyst that inspires outstanding performance, ensuring equity and inclusion remain at the forefront of operational practices. Conflict resolution and direct customer engagement are also crucial aspects of this role, as are strategic scheduling, coaching staff on corporate standards, and analyzing business performance to manage budgets effectively and optimize profitability. Maintaining awareness of industry trends and competitor benchmarks is vital to uphold the restaurant's competitive edge, including digital engagement and loyalty programs.
The role is designed for a professional who possesses at least five years in restaurant or retail management, with proven expertise in people management and financial performance improvement based on profit and loss analysis. Strong communication skills across multiple platforms and abilities to adapt to changing environments and support change management initiatives are essential. The ideal candidate champions company culture and values and is adept at recruiting, training, and motivating teams, including both high achievers and those needing improvement. Compliance with corporate policies and safety standards is mandatory.
The working hours for the Restaurant General Manager are typically structured around a 50-hour workweek, including 40 hours at regular pay and 10 hours at time and a half, offering a balanced and financially rewarding schedule. Benefits offered include competitive pay, bonus opportunities, four weeks of vacation plus additional paid time off, educational benefits like free bachelor's degrees and tuition reimbursement, comprehensive health coverage from day one, wellness programs, a 401k retirement plan with matching contributions, and various discounts on essential lifestyle services. Complimentary meals and other perks add to the overall compensation package, making this an attractive leadership role within the restaurant industry.
