With thousands of locations worldwide, KFC continually adapts to changing market trends and customer preferences, focusing on operational excellence and exceptional customer service. The brand is committed to nurturing future leaders and fostering an inclusive culture where diversity, equity, and employee development are prioritized. The company offers competitive wages and comprehensive benefits, making it a premier employer in the quick-service restaurant industry. This particular position is located at 2949 Jamacha Rd, El Cajon, CA, and offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $25, reflecting the responsibility level and skill required.
As a Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at KFC, you play a pivotal role in steering the success of your restaurant. This leadership position goes beyond managing daily operations; it is about building a thriving business and an inspired team that delivers memorable experiences to guests. The RGM is responsible for driving profitability, engaging and developing staff, and ensuring operational standards meet the company’s high expectations for quality, cleanliness, and safety. The role demands a strategic mindset combined with hands-on leadership, making it ideal for individuals passionate about people management and operational excellence.
In the day-to-day, the RGM acts as the heartbeat of the restaurant by recruiting and onboarding a skilled team, creating personalized development plans, and fostering a positive and inclusive work culture. They lead by example, motivate team members, resolve customer issues, and keep the restaurant running smoothly during peak hours. Operational expertise is essential as the manager oversees staffing, training, food safety compliance, and brand standard adherence. The position also involves business leadership duties such as analyzing financial performance, managing labor and inventory, and staying ahead of competitors by enhancing guest loyalty and digital engagement.
The ideal candidate for this role has over three years of experience in restaurant or retail management, showing proven ability in team building, coaching, and driving financial results via P&L analysis. They must be familiar with modern digital tools and possess excellent communication skills alongside a deep understanding of health, safety, and maintenance standards. Adaptability and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical as this role involves leading teams through change while upholding KFC's culture and values.
Joining KFC means more than just earning a paycheck; it signifies embracing a career filled with purpose, growth, and meaningful relationships. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, bonus opportunities, paid time off, medical and dental insurance, professional development, scholarship programs, and exclusive employee perks. KFC also offers unique support through its Foundation programs like free college tuition via Western Governors University, matched savings plans, and hardship assistance, demonstrating its commitment to the well-being and advancement of its employees.
This opportunity is ideal for ambitious leaders seeking to leave a lasting impact by guiding a high-performing team within a respected global brand. KFC Corporation is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and ensuring inclusive hiring practices. Whether joining at a corporate or franchised location, RGMs become part of a supportive and empowering environment aimed at career success and community contribution. If you are driven to lead boldly and grow purposefully, this role at KFC is your next step toward building a rewarding leadership legacy.
