With deep roots in the food service industry, Border Foods operates numerous restaurants, delivering exceptional Mexican-inspired food and memorable customer experiences across its locations. The company prides itself on a people-first philosophy, fostering a workplace culture where every employee, from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers, works collaboratively under the Core Values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. This commitment to values and supportive environment creates a unique family-like atmosphere where employees are encouraged to learn, grow, and contribute to the continuous evolution of the business and its mission of improving lives through food and service.
The General Manager role at Border Foods is a pivotal leadership position entrusted with overseeing the entire operation of an individual restaurant. General Managers are responsible for building and managing strong teams that provide consistent quality food and exceptional customer service in a friendly and efficient manner. This role demands a hands-on leader who exemplifies the company’s Core Values daily, ensuring that all team members meet operational and service standards, abide by safety and health regulations, and adhere to policies that protect both employees and customers. In addition to managing daily restaurant activities, the General Manager strategically plans for the restaurant's success by analyzing financial performance including profit and loss statements, managing labor costs, controlling inventory, and minimizing waste.
Beyond operational excellence, General Managers at Border Foods play a vital role in employee development. They are tasked with recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating team members to unlock their full potential by offering coaching, career path guidance, and opportunities for personal growth. This culture of empowerment helps build a strong, engaged workforce that is well-prepared to deliver the best dining experience for guests. General Managers also handle customer relations, resolving complaints promptly and demonstrating a genuine desire to uphold the Border Foods reputation for excellence.
In return for their dedication, General Managers at Border Foods enjoy competitive compensation, with base salaries reaching up to $100,000 annually plus the potential for top-tier bonuses, which can add up to $40,000 more. Exceptional performers are also rewarded with special incentives such as an annual trip to Mexico for the Best of the Best top General Managers. Employees benefit from a full suite of medical, dental, and vision benefits available to part-time and full-time staff alike, as well as educational assistance programs including GED and tuition reimbursement. Additional perks include free meals, paid time off including vacation, sick and holiday pay, and a vacation donation program. Working at Border Foods offers not only a rewarding career but also the chance to join a supportive community where personal and professional success goes hand in hand.
