Job Description
Border Foods began as a vision shared between two brothers to establish a Mexican restaurant, and over time, it has grown into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. Known for its dedication to quality food, outstanding service, and a strong sense of community, Border Foods embraces a people-first mantra that permeates every level of the company. This approach ensures that every employee, from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers and beyond, feels valued and empowered to contribute to the company's ongoing success. The organization prides itself on fostering an environment where individuals can learn, grow, and actively contribute to shaping the future of the company and the lives of customers and employees alike.
At its core, Border Foods operates not only as a restaurant group but as a family, committed to upholding a set of core values that include Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These values drive every decision and interaction within the company, creating a culture that prioritizes respect, collaboration, and professional development. As one of the premier Taco Bell franchisees, Border Foods offers competitive compensation, with General Managers earning up to $100,000 annually through base pay combined with top-tier bonus opportunities. The company also invests in the growth and well-being of its workforce by providing a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage even for part-time employees, as well as education programs like GED support and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and more.
The role of General Manager at Border Foods is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring the operational excellence of an entire restaurant. This includes not only delivering outstanding food and customer service consistently but also building and leading strong teams that thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The General Manager embodies the Border Foods core values by fostering a safe, welcoming, and supportive setting where employees and guests alike can have positive experiences. They guide team members to meet high standards in food safety, quality, and service speed while supporting employee growth and engagement through active coaching, training, and leadership.
General Managers at Border Foods are strategic leaders who develop both short-term and long-term plans designed to maximize restaurant success. They oversee financial performance by analyzing profit and loss statements to make informed decisions that enhance profitability while maintaining strict control over inventory, labor, and operational costs. They are also responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing team members, ensuring each new employee receives thorough orientation and training to meet company standards.
The company values its General Managers highly and rewards their hard work and dedication. Top performers are celebrated with exclusive incentives, such as annual trips to Mexico, designed to motivate and recognize exceptional achievements. Additionally, the company promotes a positive work environment where collaboration, recognition, and career advancement are encouraged, making Border Foods an ideal workplace for those seeking a meaningful and rewarding career in the restaurant industry.
