Job Description

BURGER KING is a globally recognized leader in the fast-food industry, renowned for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food offerings. Established in 1954, BURGER KING has grown to become the second largest fast food hamburger chain worldwide, earning the title as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER. The brand is deeply committed to delivering premium ingredients and signature recipes that continue to delight millions of guests daily. With over 11 million customers visiting BURGER KING restaurants each day, the company prides itself on providing an inviting, family-friendly dining experience that has stood the test of time for more than five decades.

The role of Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at BURGER KING is a highly responsible executive leadership position focused on maximizing profitability, enhancing the guest experience, developing a strong team, and ensuring smooth daily operations of a single restaurant location. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM holds overall accountability for the restaurant's profit and loss (P&L) performance and is tasked with driving business success through proactive management practices. This role oversees a dedicated team comprising an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 Team Members, making effective team leadership skills essential for success.

As the Restaurant General Manager, you are the driving force behind the restaurant's financial outcomes. This includes a detailed review of key P&L lines to identify opportunities for increased profitability and the implementation of strategies that boost sales through exceptional guest service, people development, and operational excellence. The RGM promotes a positive dining environment by motivating team members to deliver accurate, friendly, and fast service within a clean facility, ensuring guests have a superior experience every visit. Handling guest feedback is critical; the RGM reviews feedback systems to identify root causes of issues and develops actionable plans to address them promptly.

In addition to financial and guest-focused responsibilities, the RGM plays a vital role in community engagement and executing localized marketing initiatives to attract prospective guests. Building and sustaining an effective restaurant team is also a core duty, which involves leading recruitment efforts, onboarding new hires through comprehensive training and certification, and inspiring the workforce via individual and team recognition programs. Providing coaching and constructive feedback ensures continuous improvement in team capabilities and overall restaurant performance.

Operational management is another key element of this role. The RGM optimizes labor costs by effectively scheduling both management and hourly staff while ensuring compliance with government regulations, employment laws, and all BURGER KING policies. Adherence to operational and brand standards is rigorously enforced to maintain the company’s reputation and deliver consistent guest experiences. Flexibility in performing the duties of other restaurant leadership positions, such as Assistant Manager and Hourly Shift Coordinator, may be required when necessary to support restaurant needs.

This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates who have completed some college coursework. A solid understanding of P&L management and restaurant profitability drivers is essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent leadership skills, prioritizes tasks efficiently to meet deadlines, and has a firm grasp of guest service principles. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts is mandatory to ensure the proper operation of the restaurant. BURGER KING offers a dynamic work environment where motivated leaders can grow and make a significant impact in a stimulating and supportive setting.
