Job Description
BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast food restaurant chain known for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food offerings. Founded in 1954, BURGER KING has grown to become the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world, proudly holding the title of the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER. With more than 11 million guests visiting BURGER KING restaurants every day, our brand has established a strong legacy based on premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences that have resonated with customers for over 50 years. BURGER KING operates a wide network of restaurants that emphasize a commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, positioning itself as a leader within the fast food industry.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role at BURGER KING is a pivotal leadership position focused on driving the overall success of a single restaurant by managing profitability, guest satisfaction, people, and operations. As the executive leader of the restaurant, the RGM is responsible for overseeing daily operations under the guidance of the District Manager and directly managing a diverse team comprising an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 Team Members. The RGM is accountable for the restaurant's P&L, ensuring the business meets its financial goals through strategic planning and operational controls while fostering a customer-centric environment that encourages exceptional guest experiences.
To succeed in this role, the RGM actively drives sales by promoting proactive guest service, developing team members, and efficiently managing restaurant operations. The position demands a hands-on approach to motivate employees, maintain high standards of cleanliness and service, and respond swiftly to guest feedback to resolve issues and enhance the overall customer experience. The RGM also plays a key role in community engagement and local marketing efforts to attract new guests and build stronger connections within the service area.
People management is integral to the RGM's responsibilities, including leading recruitment efforts, onboarding new staff with comprehensive training, and implementing recognition and coaching programs to elevate team performance. This role requires excellent leadership capabilities to inspire and develop individuals across multiple positions within the restaurant. Additionally, the RGM ensures compliance with relevant government regulations, employment laws, and BURGER KING policies, maintaining operational and brand standards that uphold the company's reputation.
The Restaurant General Manager position is suitable for individuals with previous restaurant management experience, strong financial acumen, and a passion for delivering superior customer service. The role demands flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and long or irregular shifts as needed to support the restaurant's success. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment at a globally recognized brand with a rich history and commitment to quality.
