Job Description

BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food offerings. Founded in 1954, BURGER KING is the second largest fast-food hamburger chain worldwide and has earned a prestigious reputation as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER®. With a commitment to premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences, BURGER KING has maintained strong brand recognition and customer loyalty for over five decades. This company prides itself on creating a welcoming environment for millions of guests daily, driving innovation in the fast-food industry, and fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity among its team members.

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at BURGER KING plays a critical executive leadership role focused on profitability, guest satisfaction, team development, and operational excellence. As the key leader of the restaurant, the RGM oversees the daily operations, ensuring that all activities align with the strategic direction set by the District Manager. This management position involves supervising a dedicated team including an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and frontline Team Members to deliver an exceptional guest experience. The RGM is responsible for reviewing and optimizing the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements to boost the restaurant's financial performance while maintaining operational standards.

Beyond financial stewardship, the Restaurant General Manager drives sales by promoting proactive guest service, fostering people development, and managing operations effectively. A core responsibility is to motivate and guide team members to exceed guest expectations through providing accurate, friendly, and fast service within a clean, welcoming environment. The RGM also manages guest relations by promptly addressing feedback and resolving issues to ensure continued customer satisfaction and loyalty. This requires strong problem-solving skills to analyze guest feedback, identify underlying causes, and implement actionable strategies.

Community engagement also falls under the scope of the RGM’s duties, where they identify and interact with the local community to attract new customers and execute targeted marketing initiatives. Recruiting, hiring, and retaining high-caliber staff are essential components of the role, with the RGM leading the selection process and overseeing onboarding programs that include training and certification. Employee motivation and development are fostered through recognition programs and regular coaching aimed at enhancing individual and team performance.

Operationally, the RGM manages labor by optimizing manager staffing and team member scheduling to balance service quality and cost-efficiency. Upholding brand standards and operational protocols is mandatory to ensure the restaurant meets BURGER KING’s high-quality expectations. Additionally, the RGM may occasionally perform duties of other key managerial roles such as Assistant Manager or Hourly Shift Coordinator to maintain smooth operations. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 per year, with additional bonus pay opportunities. The work schedule requires flexibility including weekend availability, holiday shifts, and the ability to work 10-hour shifts. No formal education is required, making this role accessible to candidates with various backgrounds who are passionate about leadership in the restaurant industry.
