Job Description
KFC is one of the world's most recognized and beloved fast-food brands, known globally for its signature fried chicken and commitment to customer satisfaction. Operating as a leading franchise in the quick-service restaurant industry, KFC combines high-quality food with exceptional service and a family-like work environment. This unique blend of delicious offerings and hospitality has driven KFC to expand to thousands of locations worldwide, maintaining a strong community presence and delivering consistent guest experiences. Each restaurant is typically independently owned and operated by franchisees, who uphold the company's standards while adapting to their local market needs. Joining KFC means becoming part of a supportive and dynamic family backed by a renowned international brand that values leadership, innovation, and growth.
The role of a Restaurant General Manager at KFC is a pivotal leadership position that entails full ownership of the restaurant's success, from daily operations to team management and business growth. As the #1 leader at your location, you are entrusted with the responsibility to inspire, guide, and nurture your team while ensuring top-notch customer service and food quality. This position involves actively driving your restaurant's success metrics, including financial performance, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.
You will lead by example, championing KFC's core values with a focus on creating a positive, collaborative family atmosphere within the restaurant. Managing schedules, payroll submissions, and employee documentation are also key components of the role, alongside fostering an environment that is safe, clean, and compliant with company policies. Your leadership influences not just the team but the overall guest experience, encouraging friendly interactions and fresh, well-prepared meals. By partnering with other restaurant leaders and area managers, you share best practices and work collectively to reach broader business goals.
In this leadership position, mentorship and development of staff members are critical. You will train and onboard new team members, unlock their potential, and build a workforce that meets the high standards expected by KFC and its customers. Your ability to communicate effectively the team’s goals, upcoming promotions, and business updates strengthens cohesion and motivation. This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is goal-oriented, and takes pride in delivering excellence at every level. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial and production records, ensuring cost-effective scheduling, and maintaining confidentiality around company operations.
Candidates should expect a dynamic workplace that values punctuality, enthusiasm, and a customer-first approach. Physical requirements such as extended standing, heavy lifting, and manual dexterity are part of the typical workday, along with necessary safety practices when working near high-temperature equipment. Cash handling and reading training materials are also essential capabilities for this role. If additional support is needed during the application or hiring process due to a disability, accommodations are available upon request.
Employment is through a KFC franchisee who independently manages hiring and employment terms, so applications and personnel management are handled locally. This provides an opportunity to work within one of the largest quick-service brands while enjoying the personalized attention and management style of a franchise owner dedicated to your success.
