Job Description

BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food. Founded in 1954, BURGER KING has grown to become the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world. With over 11 million guests visiting its restaurants worldwide every day, BURGER KING prides itself on delivering premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences that have defined the brand for more than 50 successful years. The chain is widely known as the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER, a flagship menu item that has become iconic in the fast-food industry. BURGER KING continues to focus on excellence in guest service, quality food preparation, and operational performance across its many locations.

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role at BURGER KING is an executive leadership position responsible for the overall management and success of a single restaurant location. Reporting to the District Manager, the RGM oversees daily restaurant operations and leads a team comprising an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20 to 45 Team Members. The primary focus of the RGM is to drive profitability, maximize guest satisfaction, develop and retain restaurant team members, and ensure smooth operational execution. This role is crucial in managing the restaurant's profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities, setting financial goals, and implementing strategies to increase sales and reduce costs effectively.

In guest management, the RGM motivates and directs the team to exceed guest expectations by providing accurate, friendly, and fast service in a clean and welcoming environment. The RGM addresses guest feedback promptly and utilizes problem-solving techniques to identify root causes of issues, ensuring continuous improvement of the guest experience. The role also involves community engagement and the execution of local marketing initiatives to attract prospective guests and build the restaurant's presence in the area.

From a people leadership perspective, the RGM leads the recruitment and selection process to build a competent and motivated restaurant team. This includes onboarding new employees, guiding them through certification and training processes, and implementing recognition programs that inspire and motivate the workforce. The RGM provides coaching and feedback to Assistant Managers, Shift Coordinators, and Team Members, fostering a positive work environment that drives performance and professional development.

Operational responsibilities include managing labor and scheduling to optimize staffing efficiency, ensuring compliance with government regulations, employment laws, and Burger King policies. The RGM is also accountable for upholding operational and brand standards to maintain the restaurant's reputation and customer satisfaction. When necessary, the RGM will perform the duties of Assistant Managers and Shift Coordinators to maintain seamless operations. This position requires availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as necessary, reflecting the fast-paced and dynamic nature of the restaurant industry.
