Job Description
BURGER KING is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain, founded in 1954, and is acclaimed as the second largest fast food hamburger franchise in the world. Known worldwide as the HOME OF THE WHOPPER, BURGER KING has built a reputation on serving high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food that appeals to a broad customer base. The brand has thrived for over 50 years by committing to premium ingredients, unique signature recipes, and fostering a family-friendly dining experience. This dedication has cemented BURGER KING's place as an iconic and trusted name in the fast food industry. With more than 11 million guests visiting globally every day, the company values exceptional service, operational excellence, and community engagement to enhance the overall guest experience.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) position at BURGER KING is a key leadership role with ultimate responsibility for the daily operations and profitability of the restaurant. Reporting to the District Manager, the RGM leads a team including an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and Team Members. The role requires a strong focus on several critical aspects: guest satisfaction, team development, operational standards, and financial management. The RGM's leadership directly influences the restaurant’s success by driving sales through excellent service, motivating employees to exceed guest expectations, and maintaining a clean and inviting facility. With the goal of enhancing profitability, the RGM regularly reviews financial metrics such as profit and loss statements, utilizing these insights to optimize restaurant operations.
In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Restaurant General Manager plays a vital role in managing the complete guest experience. This includes addressing and solving guest feedback issues promptly and effectively, ensuring that every visitor leaves satisfied. The RGM also spearheads community engagement efforts by participating in local events and marketing activities to attract new customers and build strong community ties. Team recruitment, onboarding, and development are critical components of the role, as the RGM is responsible for hiring skilled staff, training new employees, and fostering a motivated and productive work environment. By offering regular coaching and recognition programs, the manager boosts team morale and performance, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Operational excellence is another fundamental responsibility. The Restaurant General Manager ensures adherence to corporate and brand standards by managing schedules, labor costs, and performance to optimize productivity without compromising quality. When necessary, the RGM steps into roles such as Assistant Manager or Shift Coordinator to maintain seamless restaurant operations. This full spectrum of duties makes the RGM position both challenging and rewarding as it demands a dynamic leader capable of multitasking, problem solving, and inspiring their team to deliver consistent results.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 annually, with additional bonus pay opportunities. Employees enjoy a range of benefits, including health and dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, employee discounts, paid training, paid time off, and a 401(k) program with matching contributions. The role requires on-site presence and a flexible schedule that includes weekend availability, holidays, and 10 hour shifts, reflecting the operational needs of a busy restaurant environment. No formal education requirements are necessary, making the position accessible to experienced candidates looking to grow their management career in a leading quick service restaurant chain.
