Job Description

This position is for a Restaurant General Manager (RGM) who will serve as the executive leader responsible for the overall management and operational success of the restaurant. The RGM plays a critical role in driving profitability, managing guest satisfaction, developing team members, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager will lead a management team that includes Assistant Managers, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and various Team Members.

The Restaurant General Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee all facets of the restaurant’s performance including profit and loss management, guest experience, staff development, and operational excellence. By effectively reviewing P&L statements, the RGM will implement strategies to increase restaurant profitability and operational efficiency. Proactive leadership will also be required in driving sales and motivating team members to deliver accurate, friendly, and prompt service in a clean and welcoming environment.

Additionally, the Restaurant General Manager will handle guest relations by responding swiftly to issues and ensuring a positive dining experience for every customer. Problem-solving skills will be essential in analyzing guest feedback to identify root causes of concerns and developing corrective action plans. The role involves engaging with the local community to build relationships with prospective guests and execute local marketing initiatives that enhance brand presence.

Another critical aspect of the role is recruitment and retention. The RGM will lead the hiring process, onboarding, and training of new staff, ensuring that all employees complete the necessary certification processes. Through effective coaching, feedback, and recognition programs, the General Manager will foster a motivated and capable team environment that supports continuous improvement and high performance.

Labor management is also a key responsibility, requiring the General Manager to optimize staffing levels and schedule team members efficiently while maintaining operational and brand standards. When necessary, the General Manager may perform duties typical of Assistant Managers and Shift Coordinators to ensure seamless operations.

This is a full-time, on-site role requiring availability on weekends, holidays, and the ability to work 10-hour shifts. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 per year, complemented by bonus pay and a comprehensive benefits package. Job Duties

  • Reviews P&L to increase profitability for the restaurant
  • drives sales through proactive guest service, people development and operations management
  • motivates and directs team members to exceed guest expectations with accurate, friendly, and fast service in a clean facility
  • manages the guest experience through operations and timely response to guest issues
  • problem solves guest feedback systems to determine root-causes and develops action plans to address issues
  • identifies and interacts with the community to engage prospective guest and execute on local marketing initiatives
  • leads the restaurant’s recruitment and selection process to build and retain an effective restaurant team
  • on-boards new team members by training and guiding them through the certification process
  • inspires the restaurant team by effectively managing individual and team recognition programs
  • provides coaching and feedback to all employees to increase the restaurant team’s capabilities and raise performance
  • manages restaurant labor using optimal manager staffing and team member scheduling
  • ensures that restaurant upholds operational and brand standards
  • performs duties of the assistant manager and hourly shift coordinator when necessary
