Job Description
Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG) is a rapidly growing company with a strong commitment to its employees and a people-first philosophy. Established in 2012 as a modest 30-unit Taco Bell business, DRG has expanded significantly and now operates over 240 multi-brand units. These include Taco Bell restaurants in California, Kansas, Missouri, and Nevada, as well as Arby's restaurants in Alaska, California, and Nevada. With a workforce of more than 6,000 team members, DRG maintains a unique balance between being a large organization and retaining a small company feel, fostering a familial and supportive environment for every employee.
DRG is dedicated to upholding its core values: respect, integrity, passion, accountability, commitment, and teamwork. These principles guide all aspects of the company’s operations and culture. The company offers numerous programs designed to support its employees both professionally and personally, including the DRG Cares Grant Program for financial assistance, a Savings Marketplace for exclusive discounts, and educational benefits such as GED reimbursement and free second language education. Additionally, employees have access to programs like DailyPay, which allows them to receive their paychecks daily, and an Employee Assistance Program to help with various life challenges.
The role of General Manager at DRG is a dynamic leadership position suited for an experienced and motivated individual who aspires to grow within a thriving company. The General Manager is responsible for building and developing a high-performing team by recruiting skilled individuals, providing ongoing training, and fostering clear and consistent communication. A successful General Manager leads by example, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high food quality and safety standards, ensuring store cleanliness, and driving profitability. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach, with the General Manager fully understanding and capable of performing every job function within the restaurant to effectively guide and support their team.
As a General Manager, one is accountable for overseeing multiple facets of restaurant operations, including recruitment, staff development, financial management through Profit and Loss oversight, and adhering to company policies. The role also involves acting as a liaison between restaurant staff and higher management, facilitating a positive work culture aligned with DRG’s core values. The ideal candidate is proactive in recognizing and appreciating individual and team contributions, building an effective work environment that promotes growth and success for all team members.
This position typically requires a 50-hour workweek with open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs. DRG offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $18.50 to $24 per hour, depending on experience and availability. Working at DRG means joining a fast-growing company that not only values operational excellence but also prioritizes employee well-being and professional development. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in restaurant management within a supportive and expanding organization.
