This role exists within an independently owned KFC franchise, where the franchisee is the sole employer and is responsible for all employment-related decisions and matters. The Restaurant General Manager position at KFC is a highly responsible, hands-on leadership role that involves managing all facets of restaurant operations. This role requires ownership of restaurant performance metrics and leading a dedicated team to achieve and surpass goals. Serving as the primary leader, the General Manager drives exceptional guest experiences by ensuring that every interaction is friendly, the restaurant remains spotless, and meals are always fresh. The General Manager is also a key mentor and trainer, responsible for developing the KFC team through effective onboarding, continuous training, and fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture.

The responsibilities extend to communication, as the General Manager communicates company goals, promotional activities, and business updates to their team and partners with other leaders in the region to drive collective business success. Operational duties include overseeing payroll accuracy, managing employee records such as new hire documentation, changes, and terminations, and ensuring the store is always operated safely, compliantly, and efficiently. Financial accountability is critical, with daily record-keeping of financial and production activities being a must.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in restaurant management
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and train team members
  • Capability to handle physical demands including lifting 25-85 pounds and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to comply with safety and operational procedures
  • Cash handling experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company operations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ownership of restaurant success metrics and lead restaurant team to reach goals
  • Lead guest experiences with friendly interactions, clean restaurant, and fresh meals
  • Grow and mentor team through training, development, and onboarding new team members
  • Lead communications regarding team goals, promotions, and business updates
  • Inspire a positive and collaborative family environment
  • Partner with other Restaurant General Managers and Area Leaders to grow the business
  • Review and submit payroll
  • Complete employee new hire paperwork
  • Complete employee change and termination forms
  • Ensure safe and clean operation of the store at all times
  • Create work schedules to meet service needs cost effectively
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Daily record keeping of store financial and production activities
  • Maintain documentation as specified by Area Coach, Director of Operations, and Human Resources
