Job Description
Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG) is a dynamic and fast-growing company that operates as a multi-brand franchisee of Taco Bell and Arby's Corp. Founded in 2012 with a modest portfolio of 30 Taco Bell units, the company has since expanded substantially to manage over 240 restaurants across multiple states including California, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, and Alaska. DRG prides itself on fostering a people-first culture, combining the advantages of a large organization with a close-knit, family-like work environment. With a team of over 6,000 members, the company is committed to respect, integrity, passion, accountability, commitment, and teamwork — values that are deeply embedded within its culture.
The General Manager (GM) role at DRG is a critical leadership position designed for individuals passionate about developing high-performing teams and driving exceptional operational standards. The GM is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant management including recruiting, training, staff development, P&L management, and daily operations to ensure excellent customer service and maximum profitability. This position requires a leader who can identify potential in team members, foster growth into future leaders, and maintain a high-performance culture. The GM ensures that each restaurant under their supervision upholds the company’s core values and standards in food quality, safety, employee engagement, and cleanliness.
As a General Manager, you will be accountable for creating an environment that encourages clear and consistent communication, recognition of individual and team contributions, and a focus on continuous improvement. Responsibilities include monitoring financial metrics, managing resources prudently, and ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory requirements. The position demands a leader who is hands-on and knowledgeable of every job in the restaurant, capable of making timely and effective decisions that benefit both customers and employees.
Beyond operational leadership, the GM acts as a liaison between restaurant teams and field leadership to align goals and initiatives. You will also be responsible for cultivating a positive workplace culture that motivates employees and drives retention. The ability to work with diverse teams, adapt to varying schedules, and manage a demanding workload — averaging a 50-hour work week — is essential.
The role offers a competitive starting pay ranging from $18.50 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience and availability, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes unique programs such as the DRG Cares Grant Program, daily paycheck access through DailyPay, scholarship opportunities, education benefits including GED reimbursement and second language education, and an employee assistance program among others.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced restaurant leader who is eager to join a company that emphasizes personal growth, operational excellence, and team success. The position requires a candidate with proven leadership experience, the ability to manage all shifts, and an open availability to meet the business needs that vary by nights, weekends, and holidays. Join DRG and become part of a forward-thinking organization where you can make a substantial impact and advance your career in the restaurant industry.
