The General Manager position at TooJay's, located in The Palm Springs Shopping Center in Altamonte Springs, is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the success of the restaurant. Reporting to the Area Director, the General Manager is entrusted with overseeing all operational standards and ensuring the achievement of company objectives in areas such as team development, quality operations, sales growth, and profitability. Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated success leading teams and driving results through others
  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience in a full-service restaurant manager role
  • Current Manager Serve Safe Certification required (may be obtained post-employment)
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving history
  • Available to work flexible and long hours including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Actively promotes diversity and inclusion for team members and guests
  • Ability to perform medium work, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to operate all front and back-office computer systems and related equipment
  • Flexible hours required, including 55-hour work weeks with weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for entire shifts
  • Capability to maneuver throughout dining and kitchen areas
  • Must be able to reach overhead, bend, crouch, lift, stand, sit, twist, and communicate intentions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Exercise consistent leadership and encourages others to maintain TooJay's standards in guest experience and operations
  • Have full knowledge of company policies, procedures, standards, and goals
  • Prepare and complete action plans to support market development
  • Support company initiatives by educating and training managers and team members
  • Provide proactive communication to Area Director on restaurant status including results and issues
  • Follow cash handling, house account, deposit, and credit card policies
  • Reconcile comps, voids, discounts, and cash shortages and take corrective action
  • Manage recruitment, hiring, and retention for teams and leadership
  • Conduct ongoing training and performance feedback for managers
  • Monitor turnover and prepare succession plans for hourly team members
  • Encourage friendly internal competition and focus on guest satisfaction
  • Think creatively to seize business opportunities and challenge status quo
  • Engage with guests to enhance service levels and increase satisfaction
  • Manage controllable expenses and restaurant compliance
  • Make timely decisions under pressure
  • Maintain ambiance, safety, and cleanliness throughout the restaurant
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Corporate Support Team, Area Director, and COO
