Nordstrom, Inc. is a leading fashion retailer known for its exceptional customer service and wide range of high-quality apparel, footwear, and accessories. Established in 1901, Nordstrom has grown into a premier department store with a reputation for delivering outstanding shopping experiences both in-store and online. The company prides itself on a customer-first philosophy, creating an environment where employees are empowered to provide personalized service to every guest. Nordstrom operates numerous stores across the United States and Canada, fostering a culture that emphasizes teamwork, diversity, and professional growth.
The Front of House role at Nordstrom is integral to maintaining the brand's high standards of customer service within its fast-paced restaurant environments. This position focuses on ensuring that guests receive prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly service, making each visit to the restaurant memorable. The role requires engaging with customers, managing seating arrangements, handling transactions, and supporting a variety of operational tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the dining area. Employees in this position act as the face of the restaurant, providing a welcoming atmosphere and efficient service throughout the guest's dining experience.
This role typically involves a blend of customer interaction and back-of-house support functions. Front of House team members are expected to be enthusiastic about the menu offerings and maintain a thorough knowledge of the products served. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, managing phone inquiries, cashier duties, rolling silverware, brewing coffee and tea, processing to-go and third-party delivery orders, expediting food service, stocking and organizing retail displays, and assisting with maintaining cleanliness and order within the restaurant. Flexibility, communication skills, and a customer-oriented mindset are essential for success in this position.
Nordstrom offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.20 to $16.85, with potential eligibility for performance-based incentives and bonuses. Benefits include a robust package covering medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance options, retirement plans such as 401(k), paid time off accruals, and holiday pay. The company emphasizes supporting employees through their career progression and personal well-being, ensuring a supportive workplace culture for all team members.
The Front of House role is ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to contribute to a team-focused atmosphere. Those with prior experience in food service or hospitality will find this position rewarding, as it allows the development of customer service expertise and operational skills within a respected and stable company. Nordstrom prioritizes fair hiring practices and provides accommodations to applicants with disabilities, promoting an inclusive environment for all prospective employees. This position welcomes applicants ready to embrace a flexible schedule and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences consistently.
