The Glen Club, located in the northern suburb of Glenview, Chicago, is recognized as a premier daily fee golf club featuring corporate memberships. This prestigious facility is famed for its Tom Fazio-designed golf course, which offers players an exceptional golfing experience with meticulously maintained greens and challenging layouts suitable for golfers of all skill levels. The clubhouse is expansive, spanning 50,000 square feet, and encompasses a variety of amenities including a fully equipped golf shop, spacious locker rooms, a full-service restaurant, and versatile banquet facilities capable of hosting significant events and gatherings. Moreover, The Glen Club boasts 21 overnight guest accommodations, making it a convenient destination for club members and visitors alike. The club is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join their culinary service team in the role of Food Expeditor. This position focuses on the final preparation and delivery of plated foods and to-go orders, ensuring that guests receive their meals promptly and with attention to detail that reflects the club’s high standards. The role of the Food Expeditor is vital in bridging the gap between the kitchen and the dining area, responsible for organizing the expo section of the kitchen in preparation for meal service and maintaining an efficient flow of dishes to the guests. Responsibilities include garnishing and finishing plates with appropriate accompaniments, stocking necessary supplies such as to-go containers and sauces, and maintaining cleanliness and order within the expo area. The Food Expeditor must also effectively communicate meal details to guests, attend pre-meal meetings to stay informed about menu offerings and service changes, and uphold strict hygiene and uniform standards set by the club. The position offers flexibility, with opportunities for part-time, full-time, and seasonal work shifts, catering to various schedules and availability. Job Duties
- Organize and prepare the expo area of the kitchen for meal service
- Stock to-go containers and sauces
- Clean, polish and stock utensils and plates
- Garnish and finish plates with the correct accompaniments
- Carry trays or carts of food from the kitchen to the guest
- Deliver food according to positions numbers
- Be able to describe all food being served
- Attend pre-meal meetings as requested
- Turn in signed tip declaration form weekly where applicable
- Comply with uniform requirements and hygiene standard as set forth by the club
- Perform other duties as appropriate
