Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
- Ability to work full time or part time shifts
- Capability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must comply with health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience including line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry's best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
Job Duties
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, preparing meat, or preparing sauces
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow set instructions and procedures
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
