The hiring establishment is a fast-paced restaurant specializing in barbecue and related cuisine. The role being offered is that of a Line Cook / BBQ Pitmaster. This position is integral to the kitchen's success and involves multitasking across various cooking venues, including managing the barbecue pit. The Line Cook / BBQ Pitmaster is responsible for prepping ingredients, mastering recipe preparation, packaging and plating fresh products, and performing in line with standard operating procedures to maintain food safety and sanitation. The role requires the ability to produce high-volume food orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining the integrity of every dish served. The position demands a strong knowledge of culinary techniques, nutritional values, and precise execution of recipes to handle daily variations in customer demand and raw materials.
Additionally, the role involves providing superior customer service by ensuring orders are prepared with urgency, accuracy, and freshness. The Line Cook / BBQ Pitmaster also works collaboratively with team members to maintain a clean and productive kitchen environment. This role is suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced retail food settings and is keen on upholding excellence in both food preparation and customer experience. Job Duties
- Cuts, slices, dices, chops food for recipe preparation
- preps in accordance with recipe specifications and SOPs
- prepackages condiments for prepared food items
- completes tasks at assigned work station
- assists in multiple cooking venues
- assists in technical areas and with catering orders as needed
- masters recipe preparation including daily production to account for raw material variations and customer demand
- prepares, packages, and plates fresh product
- ensures compliance with department store and standard operating procedures
- properly handles and maintains temperature integrity of all ingredients, product, and equipment operation
- maintains sanitation in food preparation areas
- properly handles, operates, and maintains equipment
- performs as a team member to help ensure a safe, clean, productive operation
- provides and ensures customers a sense of urgency related to accuracy, speed, and freshness of their order
