Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis is a distinguished luxury hotel located in Clayton, Missouri. Known for its remarkable service and elegant accommodations, the hotel is part of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand under Marriott International. Marriott International is renowned worldwide for its dedication to hospitality excellence, operating more than 100 award-winning properties globally. The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis offers guests an unmatched experience in luxury, comfort, and personalized service, making it a premier destination for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel’s location, amenities, and dedication to the Gold Standards of service set it apart as a leader in the luxury hospitality industry.
This role, based at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis, is a full-time, non-management position within the Sales and Marketing category. The position is commission-based and comes with full benefits, including free parking and complimentary employee meals. It is designed for professionals passionate about event sales and hospitality, preferably with prior experience in event sales. The core responsibility of the role is to support the sales process by preparing essential sales documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting the hotel's brand image, both internally and externally, helping to enhance awareness and loyalty among guests and clients alike.
The role involves gathering and assembling sales materials like brochures and promotional content, applying effective sales techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott. Candidates will assist the management team in developing and executing revenue and marketing strategies for the hotel’s outlets and room service. Responsibilities also extend to coordinating and implementing social media campaigns and beverage promotional programs.
An integral part of the job requires managing databases by entering, retrieving, reconciling, and verifying information related to commissions, leads, and third-party partnerships in sales software. As the first point of contact for clients, excellent communication skills are essential for responding to inquiries via phone and email. The position also involves coordinating reservations for special events, including holiday events and parties of six or more in the restaurant, as well as managing food and beverage sales in hospitality suites through the Room Service Department.
Additional duties include performing general office tasks such as filing, emailing, typing, faxing, and copying to support the Champions and Room Service teams. There are also expectations for safety and professionalism, such as reporting accidents or unsafe conditions, maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company assets.
Employees in this role are expected to welcome guests warmly, anticipate guest needs, and express genuine appreciation to patrons. Communication should be clear and professional, including accurate preparation and review of written documents and answering telephones with proper etiquette. This position requires the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support team goals, listen and respond appropriately to concerns, and comply with quality assurance standards.
Candidates should be physically capable of moving, lifting, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance, and able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis offers a supportive, innovative environment where employees are encouraged to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate. Joining this team means embracing the company’s Gold Standards and the promise of delivering exceptional luxury service that creates lifelong memories for guests. As part of the Marriott International family, this position provides opportunities to belong to a global team and become the best version of oneself while contributing to a world-class hospitality brand.
