Job Description

Our client is a dynamic restaurant operator focused on delivering exceptional dining experiences in the downtown Chicago market. They are a nimble, people-focused brand dedicated to operational excellence and passionate about growing their team and business in a hands-on environment. The company emphasizes strong leadership development, operational consistency, and a vibrant company culture, making it a great place for operators seeking growth and a meaningful role in multi-unit restaurant management. Their lean management philosophy ensures leaders remain close to the business, enabling responsive decision-making and authentic team engagement which drives superior guest satisfaction and store performance.

They are currently seeking a District Manager to oversee a small group of four to five restaurant locations. This role is perfectly suited for a highly operational, development-oriented leader who is ready to take the next step in multi-unit leadership or an early-stage multi-unit leader eager to cultivate their career within an evolving brand. The District Manager will be critical in coaching and empowering General Managers, driving uniform operational excellence, and balancing the numerous priorities of multiple restaurant locations simultaneously. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment with less corporate bureaucracy and more direct influence on the day-to-day operational success of their district.

The District Manager will play a vital role in sustaining and enhancing guest experience, operational cleanliness, food quality, safety compliance, and team development initiatives. The position demands a hands-on leader who will frequently visit all locations to perform store assessments, operational audits, and provide targeted feedback and action plans to store leadership teams. Utilization of data-driven insights such as sales trends, labor performance, and operational metrics will be essential to identify and implement improvement strategies across the district.

In addition to overseeing operations, the District Manager will support succession planning efforts through recruitment, hiring, and development of future leaders to ensure continued growth and sustainability. They will act as a crucial liaison between field operations and the corporate support team, ensuring smooth communication and consistent execution of company policies and compliance standards. Moreover, this role requires flexibility regarding work schedules, including evenings and weekends, to maintain visibility and support across all restaurant locations. The compensation package includes a base salary in the $70,000 to $75,000 range, bonus opportunities linked to store and sales performance, and a comprehensive benefits plan including health insurance and 401(k).

This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about restaurant operations who want to leverage their leadership skills and operational expertise to guide multiple locations towards consistent performance improvements while fostering a positive work environment and strong teams. Those who excel in this role will demonstrate visible leadership, strong business acumen, and a dedication to developing others, all while ensuring the district’s operational execution aligns with the brand’s high standards and growth objectives.
