The position available is that of a Utility worker, an essential role within the SSP America team. As a Utility worker at SSP America, your primary responsibility will be maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food service and work areas to ensure a positive and hygienic environment for guests and staff alike. This includes tasks such as cleaning floors, equipment, and surfaces; removing refuse; clearing and resetting tables; and washing dishes either by hand or with commercial dishwashing equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining stock levels, managing food temperatures, and assisting with loading and unloading supplies. The role demands attention to detail and commitment to sanitary standards, often involving the use of specific cleaning chemicals and operation of heavy cleaning equipment.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
  • maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas
  • remove refuse to designated areas
  • clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings as needed, transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
  • scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place
  • clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards, may include the use of heavy equipment
  • assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server or supervisor
  • load and unload supply trucks, transferring between storage and work areas
  • stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
  • perform other duties as assigned
