The position being offered is a part-time, non-management Food and Beverage colleague role that comes with a competitive hourly wage of $17.00. This role requires a hands-on approach to culinary preparation and kitchen operations, contributing directly to the exceptional dining experiences The Ritz-Carlton is known for. In this role, associates will prepare ingredients including portioning, chopping, and storing food items, and they will be responsible for washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to standardized recipes and quality protocols. The position demands proficiency in using various kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to cook both hot and cold foods. Consistently testing food quality and temperature ensures that every dish served upholds the high standards expected by The Ritz-Carlton guests.
Further responsibilities involve maintaining cleanliness and sanitation by washing and disinfecting kitchen tools, knives, equipment, and the kitchen area itself. Associates in this role will also ensure their workstations are properly set up and broken down at the beginning and end of shifts. A paramount part of the job includes compliance with company safety and security policies, promptly reporting any maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to management. The role is physically active and requires standing or moving for prolonged periods, lifting items up to 25 pounds, and performing bending and reaching movements. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G E D equivalent
- Minimum 1 year related work experience
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand and perform physical activities for entire shifts
- Willingness to follow company safety and security policies
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene
- Ability to work part-time schedule

Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
- Weigh measure and mix ingredients
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes quality and presentation standards
- Operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
- Test foods to check if sufficiently cooked
- Monitor food quality during preparation
- Set-up and break down workstation
- Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area tables tools knives and equipment
- Check and ensure correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Report maintenance needs accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager
- Complete safety training and certifications
- Maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
