The opportunity at The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale is a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage and Culinary position. This role is essential to maintaining the culinary standards the hotel is known for, ensuring every food item served meets the highest quality expectations. The role involves preparing and presenting food with a focus on attention to detail and cleanliness. Candidates will engage in multiple aspects of kitchen operations such as setting up and breaking down workstations, operating cooking equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, as well as handling cold food preparation. A critical part of the role is monitoring food quality through visual inspection and testing to ensure that every dish is cooked to perfection.

Additional responsibilities include preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and storing fresh fruits and vegetables. The position demands the ability to weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately for flawless meal preparation. Special meals or dietary substitutions must be prepared when requested, and the food must be served in the proper portions on the appropriate receptacle. Rigorous sanitation practices are required, including washing and disinfecting the kitchen environment, tools, knives, and equipment to comply with hygiene and safety standards.
