The Hotel Line Cook position at Omni William Penn Hotel offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about food preparation and guest satisfaction. The role requires cooking and maintaining the quality and consistency of all food produced and served in the hotel's restaurant outlets. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing food orders efficiently and ensuring that the service stations are fully stocked and set up at least 15 minutes before service begins. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items assigned to their station, along with the ability to accurately fulfill guest orders in a timely fashion. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment requires adaptability and a keen attention to detail, qualities essential for success in this position.
This role involves working primarily during the PM shift, with hours potentially extending as late as 2 a.m., and may require flexibility to cover other shifts, including weekends and holidays. Physical stamina is necessary, as the job includes prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Candidates must possess valid Food Handlers and Serve Safe certifications at the time of hire. Preference is given to those with previous line cook experience, especially within hotel settings, indicating familiarity with the rigorous standards and pace of hospitality kitchens. Compensation follows a union contract rate starting at $18.15 per hour for the first three months, increasing to $19.16 after three months, and $20.17 after six months.
