The Kitchen Crew Member role at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is an essential position responsible for preparing menu items in accordance with company policies, procedures, and performance standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining high food quality and safety standards while contributing to an efficient kitchen operation. The Kitchen Crew Member is accountable for helping to control food costs by ensuring accurate portioning and following inventory rotation standards such as FIFO (first in, first out). This position also emphasizes maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage spaces to meet health department and OSHA requirements. The role requires strong communication skills to coordinate with the Kitchen Manager, Manager on Duty, and fellow team members to address any operational or safety concerns promptly. Kitchen Crew Members must be physically capable of standing and walking for long periods, handling heat and cold environments, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. No prior experience is required as comprehensive in-house training on sanitation, safety, and customer service is provided.   • Controls food cost by ensuring accurate portioning and proper food preparation
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage areas
  • Communicates with management and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, and safety problems
