Job Description
El Super is a well-established supermarket chain that has served as the grocery retailer of choice for its customers for more than 25 years. With a strong foundation rooted in family values and a deep love for food, El Super offers exceptional value and variety at the lowest possible prices. This company is known for meeting the diverse needs of its communities by providing a wide range of grocery products from Latin America, authentic in-house service departments, and quality perishable items. As a proud part of the Chedraui USA group of companies, El Super is committed to delivering an outstanding shopping experience with the freshest selections available across all of its retail banners. The company's success is driven primarily by its dedication to its people and customers, placing them at the heart of everything it does.
El Super is currently looking to hire a Restaurant Clerk at its #63 Indio store location, specifically catering to young candidates aged 16 to 17. The position offers a starting hourly rate of $16.90, reflecting the company's commitment to fair and competitive compensation. The role involves being a vital part of the Store Operations Team, where the clerk will contribute significantly to the customer service experience by assisting in the preparation of grilled and hot food items following exact company standards. Maintaining a clean and welcoming restaurant environment is a key responsibility, ensuring customers leave satisfied with their experience.
This job requires enthusiasm for food, community involvement, and excellent customer service skills. Candidates should expect to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, to meet the demands of the business. The position is perfect for young individuals eager to gain work experience in a fast-paced retail supermarket environment that values teamwork, dedication, and customer satisfaction.
El Super also values the development and welfare of its employees. The company offers significant benefits such as a 401(k) retirement plan, continuing education benefits, and other perks to foster employee growth and wellbeing. The Restaurant Clerk role particularly suits individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and have a basic understanding of food safety practices, as a Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is mandatory due to the nature of the food preparation duties involved.
Joining the El Super team means becoming part of a community-focused business that celebrates cultural diversity and strives to provide an exceptional retail experience. The Restaurant Clerk position is a gateway to career advancement within the company, providing opportunities to build valuable skills in retail, food service, and customer relations. Candidates who bring basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, or have achieved a Retail Management Certificate, will find themselves at an advantage, though these are not mandatory requirements.
Overall, this job offers a unique opportunity for young individuals to enter the workforce in a supportive environment that values diversity, encourages learning, and rewards hard work. With El Super's reputation, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits, the Restaurant Clerk position is an excellent career starting point for those passionate about customer service and food retail.
