Job Description

El Super is a well-established supermarket chain that has been a trusted name in the grocery industry for over 25 years. Known for its dedication to offering exceptional value and variety, El Super caters primarily to diverse communities by providing an extensive assortment of grocery products, particularly from Latin America. The company emphasizes authentic in-house service departments and high-quality perishable items, ensuring that customers receive fresh and reliable products every time they shop. Being part of the Chedraui USA group of companies, El Super carries a mission centered around delivering an outstanding shopping experience with the freshest selections across all its retail banners. The company values its people deeply, recognizing that employees are at the heart of its success and customer satisfaction.

The Restaurant Clerk position at El Super Store #57 Riverside is an integral role within the store operations team, located at 5800 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California. This part-time or full-time employment opportunity starts at a competitive rate of $16.90 per hour, providing a rewarding career option for individuals passionate about customer service and food. As a Restaurant Clerk, your primary responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of grilled and hot food items, following detailed company standards for both preparation and presentation. Additionally, maintaining a clean and inviting restaurant environment is crucial to ensuring a positive customer service experience. This role demands flexibility, as candidates must be willing to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, capable of reading and understanding simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and short correspondences such as memos. Writing simple correspondence is also required, along with effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group interactions with customers, clients, and fellow employees. Strong common sense is essential to interpret and carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions successfully. Physical stamina is equally important for this role, as regular lifting or moving of items weighing up to 25 pounds is expected, frequently handling up to 45 pounds and occasionally managing weights up to 60 pounds.

El Super supports this position by offering a safe, supportive, and growth-oriented work environment. Employees can benefit from a 401(k) retirement plan, continuing education benefits, and many additional perks that contribute to long-term career development. Holding a Food Handler Card or an equivalent certification is a mandatory requirement for individuals involved in food preparation, handling, and serving. Additional skills such as basic PC and Outlook proficiency and a Retail Management Certificate are advantageous but not required.

Joining the El Super team at store #57 Riverside means becoming part of a company driven by family values, community engagement, and a passion for food. This role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates who love serving their communities, enjoy food preparation, and thrive in customer-centric environments. By embracing El Super's mission, employees contribute to a broader vision of delivering quality, affordable groceries, and exceptional service to local neighborhoods. This job not only offers a competitive wage and benefits but also the chance to be a crucial part of a respected retail establishment committed to equality and inclusivity in its hiring practices.
