Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Servsafe certification
  • At least 10 years of progressive kitchen experience
  • 3-5 years in a Sous Chef or Chef role
  • Experience with front of house staff oversight
  • Ability to develop and lead a back of house team
  • Creativity in menu planning and specials creation
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
  • Knowledge of culinary trends and dining styles
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
  • Problem-solving and logical thinking skills
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Hands-on involvement in kitchen operations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Servsafe certified
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive kitchen experience
  • 3-5 years experience as a Sous Chef or Chef
  • Experience overseeing front of house staff and dining/bar operations
  • Strong leadership skills with team development focus
  • Creative culinary skills with ability to create fresh concepts and specials consistently
  • Knowledge of current culinary and dining trends
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Exposure to front of house operations
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective problem solving and logical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
  • Hands-on approach in food preparation and line work
  • Comfortable interacting with residents and acting as the face of the kitchen operation
  • Positive attitude and professionalism at all times.

Job Duties

  • Managing all kitchen and back of house staff including hiring, discipline, termination, training, and scheduling
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Culinary Team ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
  • Interact and communicate successfully with residents and team members
  • Keep current with industry practices aligned with the Latitude Margaritaville Brand
  • Create vibrant menus and weekly specials reflecting the Margaritaville lifestyle
  • Apply logical thinking for problem solving and decision making
  • Ensure high standards of appearance, hospitality, and cleanliness in dining areas and personnel
  • Supervise, train, and develop back of house staff
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, sanitation, and food safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude under all circumstances
  • Responsible for cleanliness and passing Health, Ecosure, and HACCP inspections
  • Lead Culinary Team and coordinate bookings for private dining events
  • Work with vendors for promotions and specials
  • Maintain resident contact and gather feedback
  • Build effective teams through training, coaching, and leadership
  • Foster an 'I Love My Job' environment
  • Handle community emergencies according to company guidelines
  • Comply with all relevant food safety and safety rules
  • Work with management to create food and beverage community events
  • Lead staff through various service types including a la carte and buffet
  • Maintain impeccable kitchen hygiene and proper staff grooming and uniform standards.
