Within this dynamic environment, the role of Food Service Facilitator is essential to the smooth operation of food service activities. This position involves ensuring an excellent dining experience through effective facilitation of food service tasks. Responsibilities include cleaning tables, carrying dirty dishes, and replacing soiled table linens, crucial to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. It also involves replenishing supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes, as well as supplying the service bar with food items and serving water, butter, and coffee to patrons. The Food Service Facilitator plays a key role in supporting front-of-house operations and helps uphold service standards through efficiency and attention to detail.

This role not only requires physical involvement in food service logistics but also demands a commitment to exceptional customer service, cleanliness, and teamwork. The facilitator must swiftly clean up spilled food and broken dishes, manage the transport of food, dishes, trays, and silverware between the kitchen and serving counters, and maintain beverage and ice dispensers. Maintaining adequate supplies of service ware and replenishing food and equipment at steam tables and service bars are key functions. Moreover, the facilitator will actively assist in running food to tables and lounges and support room service when needed, reflecting the role's comprehensive scope.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Clean up spilled food, drinks and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, and silverware from kitchens and supplies departments to serving counters
  • Carry trays from tables and booths with soiled dishes, glassware and silverware to kitchen and dish room
  • Fill beverage and ice dispensers
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
  • Replenish supplies of food and equipment at steam tables and service bars
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency when greeting guests and turning tables
  • Assist in running food to tables and lounge
  • Assist with room service orders to guest rooms when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
