Job Description
Eataly is the world’s largest artisanal Italian food and beverage marketplace, renowned for its unique approach to food retail and dining. Unlike chain stores, each Eataly location possesses its own distinct character and thematic elements, all designed to provide guests with an authentic Italian experience. Guests visit Eataly to indulge in authentic Italian food at its restaurants, cafés, and to-go counters. The marketplace also offers a carefully curated selection of high-quality Italian, local, and homemade products, making it a top destination for food lovers seeking quality, authenticity, and variety. Beyond eating and shopping, Eataly fosters a learning environment where customers can attend classes and benefit from the team’s extensive product knowledge, enabling a deeper appreciation of Italian culinary arts and culture.
The role of Bartender at Eataly is critical in delivering the exceptional, memorable experiences the brand is known for. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting, mixing, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in the bar and restaurant areas. This role requires not only technical skills in drink preparation but also a strong focus on hospitality, ensuring each guest receives friendly, cheerful, attentive, and timely service. The Bartender plays an essential role in maintaining the ambiance and attractiveness of the bar space, arranging bottles and glasses to create inviting displays. At Eataly, the Bartender works closely under the supervision of the Restaurant Manager and leads the Barback staff, supporting smooth operations.
The position also demands compliance with health and safety standards, including maintaining a clean and sanitary bar environment that meets Department of Health regulations. Bartenders must be well-versed in all food and beverage laws and regulations to ensure a safe and responsible service. Additional duties include serving wine and bottled beers, drawing draught beer from kegs, engaging with guests to take orders, and serving snacks alongside drinks. This diverse range of responsibilities makes the Bartender role a dynamic and integral part of the Eataly guest experience.
Compensation for this position is competitive, with a pay rate of $17.87 per hour plus tips. The role requires flexibility, as it often includes night and weekend shifts, demanding physical stamina to remain stationary for extended periods, and the ability to perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Eataly values employees who can use point of sale systems and draft tools efficiently.
In summary, joining Eataly as a Bartender means becoming part of a vibrant team committed to authentic Italian cuisine, guest satisfaction, and continuous learning. The position offers an opportunity to grow within a distinguished marketplace that values its employees and the cultural heritage it proudly represents.
