The Bartender role at Highgate Hotels is an integral position responsible for ensuring guests receive exceptional service in a clean, well-organized bar environment. Bartenders are expected to set up the bar according to established hotel standards and deliver a wide variety of beverages and cocktails with precision and flair. Maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor is essential to fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all guests, managers, and team members. The role carries the responsibility of controlling liquor inventory effectively, adhering strictly to state liquor laws, and following all hotel policies regarding service and safety. Bartenders must be attentive and proactive in responding to guests’ needs, queries, or complaints to ensure overall guest satisfaction is achieved. Beyond service, the role involves maintaining cleanliness throughout bar operations, handling beverage supplies responsibly during and after events, and participating in hotel-mandated training and meetings. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Ability to stand for entire shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Flexible with working hours including long shifts
- Must attend hotel required meetings and trainings
- Must maintain personal grooming and wear proper uniform and nametag
- Must comply with hotel safety and operational standards
- Ability to handle problems proactively

Job Duties
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and employees
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards
- Prepare beverages and cocktails according to hotel mixing and presentation standards
- Serve guests promptly and professionally
- Break down bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies and equipment properly
- Follow all state liquor laws
- Know hotel services and facilities
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
- Serve liquor carefully to avoid issues with intoxicated guests
- Respond to guests’ problems, complaints and accidents
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of bar and service areas
