The position of Restaurant Bartender at Motor Bar & Restaurant located in the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI, offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic hospitality team. The pay rate is $7.25 per hour, plus tips. This role requires a bartender to prepare and serve beverages to guests with friendliness and professionalism. Responsibilities include adhering to state and federal laws regarding the service of alcoholic beverages, maintaining quality through proper stocking and preparation of garnishes and perishables, and delivering excellent guest service by greeting customers warmly and efficiently processing drink orders. The bartender must also demonstrate knowledge of alcohol laws, detect signs of intoxication, and provide responsible service. The job demands attention to cleanliness, including washing stemware and maintaining an attractive bar area. Additional responsibilities include cash handling, securing the bar and related inventory, and performing general cleaning to maintain health and safety standards.

Applicants must be able to obtain a City of Milwaukee Bartender License and be ServSafe Alcohol Certified or willing to complete certification upon hire. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a City of Milwaukee Bartender License
  • Must be ServSafe Alcohol Certified or take course offered by employer upon hire
  • Able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed in alignment with restaurant hours and business needs

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of beverage preparation and mixology
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and responsible alcohol service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ServSafe Alcohol Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to handle cash accurately
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the bar area

Job Duties

  • Adhere to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Set up assigned bars
  • requisition and stock all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce
  • Maintain stock, prepare, cure and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner
  • Take and/or process orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes
  • practice prudent portion control
  • Check guests at the bar for proper identification
  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained
  • Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity of charges, record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed
  • Lock up and store all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops
