This role is a full-time, non-management position based at the JW Marriott hotel located at 800 Washington Ave, Saint Louis, Missouri. As a member of the Food and Beverage and Culinary team, you will play a crucial support role in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring a top-tier guest experience. The position emphasizes a comprehensive range of closing duties, including the storage and disassembly of reusable merchandise, cleaning and organizing equipment and work areas, securing refrigerators and doors, restocking items, and completing the daily cleaning checklist. Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of porcelain, glassware, and silverware is critical to uphold the hotel’s standards. Additionally, this role involves continuous upkeep of workstation cleanliness throughout the day.
This position requires strict adherence to Marriott’s policies and safety protocols, including timely reporting of maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries. Employees are expected to complete all mandatory safety training and certifications. Appearance and professionalism are paramount, so maintaining a neat uniform and personal grooming is essential. Confidentiality regarding company information and protecting company assets are required. The role involves supporting colleagues cooperatively and treating everyone with dignity and respect to contribute to a positive team environment. Physical tasks involve moving, lifting, and handling objects up to 50 pounds, and being on your feet or walking for extended periods during your shift. You will also be expected to communicate clearly and professionally with both guests and coworkers, including answering phone calls courteously and using appropriate language.
