Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, the company operates nearly 2,800 locations globally. Panda Restaurant Group is known for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences through its various concepts including Panda Express, Panda Inn fine dining restaurants, and Hibachi San Japanese grill. The company prides itself on fostering a culture inspired by its mission to better the lives of its employees, emphasizing key values such as proactive behavior, respect, growth, great operations, and giving back to the community. With a strong presence nationwide and a support center based in Rosemead, CA, Panda offers ample career opportunities ranging from entry-level to management positions, making it an attractive workplace for those looking for career growth in the restaurant industry.

The role of Assistant Kitchen Manager at Panda Restaurant Group plays a crucial part in ensuring the success of kitchen operations by supporting the Kitchen Manager to maintain a positive and efficient work environment. As a key member of the back-of-house team, the Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen tasks including food preparation, cooking, inventory management, and equipment maintenance. This leadership role helps drive teamwork, adherence to food safety standards, and compliance with company quality expectations. The position demands both hands-on culinary skills and strong people management abilities, as the Assistant Kitchen Manager is also involved in recruiting, training, and scheduling kitchen staff. Working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, this role requires flexibility in work hours and the capacity to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. The position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $28 to $31, depending on location and experience, and serves as a stepping stone for those seeking to advance into higher levels of management within the company. Joining Panda means becoming part of a vibrant team that values respect, growth, and the joy of providing memorable dining experiences to guests while supporting employee development and workplace inclusion.
