The role of Restaurant and Bar Assistant General Manager at Hotel Bel-Air is a unique opportunity to join an elite team focused on delivering memorable guest experiences through outstanding food and beverage service. This position involves overseeing daily operations and managing the Restaurant and Bar team to ensure that all standards are maintained at superior levels. In addition to operational oversight, the Assistant General Manager plays a significant role in managing financial aspects such as trial balance, accruals, checkbook maintenance, and P&L variance analysis. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in English
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle escalated guest issues
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Valid work authorization for employment in the USA

  • Proven experience in restaurant and bar management

Job Duties

  • Oversee and assist in the management of all daily operations during their day
  • Cultivate relationships with guests including recognizing all in-house and VIP guests
  • Build relationships and directly manage the Restaurant and Bar team
  • Ensure standards are maintained at a superior level daily
  • Assist with planning, organization, direction of the operations and supervision of staff
  • Interview, hire and train employees
  • Plan, assign and direct work
  • Appraise performance, address complaints and resolve problems during their day
  • Plan menu, control costs, oversee preparation and presentation of food and drinks
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Oversee and coordinate special events
  • Resolve escalated operational issues requiring coordination with other departments
  • Manage month-end financial requirements including trial balance, accruals, checkbook maintenance and P&L variance critiques
  • Attend labor and revenue meetings
  • Lead team to fulfill special guest requests such as dietary restrictions and special occasions
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to guest complaints and feedback
  • Evaluate customer communication channels and create action plans and required follow-ups
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies with Sales and Marketing
  • Report and correct operational imperfections and collaborate with other departments
  • Communicate with other departments and the extended hotel team to ensure alignment
  • Work hands-on with culinary and stewarding teams to drive problem solving and resolution
