Job Description

Build WyCo is a community development corporation committed to stabilizing and revitalizing Kansas City, Kansas through quality housing and neighborhood investment. Their mission is to invest in the power of neighbors to build communities that thrive across generations. By building and renovating healthy, durable homes and supporting sustainable homeownership through coaching, education, and financial assistance, Build WyCo creates lasting change in neighborhoods. This organization focuses on community-led development, ensuring that residents have a voice in shaping the future of their communities.

The role of Resource Development & Marketing Coordinator at Build WyCo plays a vital part in fostering transparent and consistent engagement with supporters, partners, neighbors, and other key stakeholders. This position serves on both the Resource Development and Marketing teams, which often act as the public face of Build WyCo. The coordinator's work is crucial in building accountability and trust within the community by providing a welcoming guest experience at events, supporting open and clear communications with donors, and designing customer-centered marketing and outreach materials. Collaboration is a fundamental part of this role, as it requires regular teamwork with other departments to develop grant reports, impact updates, and promote programs effectively.

Additionally, this position supports the Executive team by providing administrative assistance, ensuring smooth management of operations. The Resource Development component involves assisting with planning and executing events, managing vendor relations, record-keeping in Salesforce, and maintaining organized communication with donors and stakeholders. Marketing responsibilities encompass improving customer engagement, generating original content, designing digital and print collateral, managing social media and website content, and actively participating in community events to raise awareness. This comprehensive role requires a detail-oriented, adaptable professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.

Compensation for this position starts at $19 to $21 per hour, depending on experience. The role is eligible for Build WyCo's benefits package, which includes medical insurance with an employer-paid plan, dental, vision, retirement benefits, 10 paid holidays, and a paid Winter break from December 24 to December 31, along with a generous paid time off package. This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about community development, eager to contribute to meaningful social impact work while honing their skills in resource development, marketing, and executive support.
