The Costume Design & Development team within Disney Live Entertainment is pivotal in translating the artistic vision for each show into tangible costume pieces that enhance character portrayal and overall guest experience. This team's blending of artistry and technical precision ensures the costumes do not merely adorn but tell stories themselves, aligning seamlessly with the narrative and spectacle of Disney productions.

This opening is for a Resource Assistant (Project Hire/Internal Assignment) who will support the Costume Designers and Costume Development Managers in bringing these costumes to life. The Resource Assistant role is critical in maintaining the smooth operation of costume development projects. The successful candidate will coordinate essential aspects of costume documentation, photo shoots, and contribute to project management by maintaining documents such as scope lists, tracking sheets, deliverable matrices, and shipping documents.

This position directly reports to a Senior Costume Development Manager and involves significant collaboration to ensure accuracy and efficiency in record-keeping, communication, and project delivery. The Resource Assistant will also leverage tools like Microsoft Forms to develop costume fitting surveys and feedback forms, assisting in gathering relevant data to improve costume development processes. Additional responsibilities include managing meetings, distributing notes, researching requests, and supporting teams across the site.

Positioned as a project hire or internal assignment without guarantee of permanent placement, this role offers an opportunity to work within a highly creative and dynamic environment that values meticulous attention to detail, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit. The pay rate for this position in Anaheim, CA is $28.25 per hour. Select benefits, including medical and financial options, may supplement the compensation package depending on the role’s level.

Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience in writing, proofreading, and editing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Smartsheet
  • Ability to accept direction and adapt to change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Familiarity with project documentation and meeting facilitation

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all aspects of costume documentation photo shoots, assist as needed to ensure smooth execution and accurate record-keeping
  • Develop and maintain various project documents including scope lists, tracking lists, deliverables matrices, shipping documents, closeout documents, and design input matrices
  • Monitor meetings, take and distribute notes and communications, follow up on action items, and provide updates as necessary in collaboration with the Costume Development Manager
  • Utilize Microsoft Forms to build Costume Fitting Form Surveys and Costume Feedback Forms under the direction of the Costume Development Manager
  • Assist in crafting presentations for various projects, contributing to effective project-related communications
  • Direct personal tasks under the immediate supervision of the Costume Development Manager, ensuring priorities are addressed efficiently
  • Respond to questions and research requests from employees at all levels, from front-line staff to Executive Leadership
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate costuming documentation on internal applications, ensuring information is accessible and reliable
  • Collaborate with various teams across the site as needed to support projects and contribute to overall team success
