This Food Server role at Sycuan Resort and Casino is an integral part of the food and beverage team, responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests by efficiently and promptly taking and serving food and drink orders. The position involves direct interaction with guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued throughout their dining experience. Food Servers play a critical role in maintaining the overall ambiance of the restaurant and contributing to guest satisfaction and loyalty.

The duties include greeting guests as they enter the restaurant, accurately processing orders using the property management system, handling payments securely, and responding to guest inquiries and requests with professionalism and courtesy. The position requires strict adherence to responsible alcohol service guidelines, ensuring guests comply with legal drinking age and consumption limits. Servers will also maintain cleanliness and orderliness of dining areas, replenish supplies, and uphold high standards of hygiene and safety.

Job Duties

  • acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the restaurant area
  • promptly taking and serving food and beverage orders
  • entering orders into the property management system
  • entering discounts, processing and returning change or receipt following established procedures
  • responding to guest requests
  • offering appropriate up to date information regarding promotional contests and giveaways
  • providing requested assistance and product knowledge
  • treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • entering cash transactions in to point of sale system
  • counting currency
  • logging guest discounts, vouchers, VIP points and credit cards on to cashier drop work sheet
  • balancing money drawer against generated cashier report following established procedures
  • reporting discrepancies to the food services management team
  • asking for proper identification from guests that appear to be under the age of 30
  • monitoring alcohol consumption
  • ensuring guests do not become intoxicated following established procedures
  • stopping alcohol service at the designated time
  • clearing the room of all alcoholic containers, glasses and bottles for each venue at the time specified
  • cleaning surfaces
  • picking up used plates, cups, condiments and utensils
  • disposing of all trash
  • placing delivered water, food and supplies in designated areas
  • replenishing condiments in the server stations
  • polishing glassware and silverware
  • folding napkins
  • cleaning shelves, condiment holders, tables and counters according to established procedures
