The role of a Resort Housekeeper at Sun Outdoors is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of resort properties and common areas. The Resort Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that every area, from bathrooms and kitchens to common rooms and laundry facilities, is clean, orderly, and safe. The job requires attentiveness to detail, compliance with safety protocols, and an ability to manage multiple cleaning tasks efficiently. The housekeeper will handle cleaning tasks such as defrosting freezers, sanitizing appliances, maintaining floors, and managing waste removal.

Sun Outdoors seeks individuals with prior experience or demonstrated knowledge of janitorial or housekeeping work, familiar with the safe use of cleaning chemicals and capable of lifting 25 pounds. Basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license are required to facilitate communication and access to necessary resources. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months previous experience cleaning homes or large facilities preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general janitorial work
  • Knowledge of safety measures when using various cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Basic computer proficiency including ability to use email and internet
  • Valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks areas with products as needed
  • Ensures all tables and chairs are clean and functioning properly
  • Cleans and sanitizes appliances
  • Defrosts freezer as needed
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
  • Places rubber mats for safety in bathrooms
  • Follows all established safety procedures and reports unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Ensures the overall appearance of the resort, buildings, and facilities are well maintained and orderly
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, waxes, and buffs floors as needed
  • Cleans windows and screens
  • Maintains washers and dryers
  • Empties trash containers
  • Cleans vents and changes filters as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
