This job opportunity is for the role of Resort Housekeeper, which is a vital position within the resort’s operational team. The primary responsibility of a Resort Housekeeper is to ensure that all resort facilities, buildings, and rental properties are consistently clean, sanitary, and welcoming to guests. This role involves a wide variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, ranging from sanitizing bathrooms and appliances to keeping floors pristine and equipment in optimal condition. By maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety, the Resort Housekeeper plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall guest experience and supporting the resort's reputation for excellence.

The position offers an hourly wage of $14, reflecting the value and importance of this role to the organization. Employment in this capacity is typically full-time or part-time based on the resort’s operational needs. In this position, accountability and attention to detail are paramount, as housekeepers are expected to follow established safety procedures while ensuring that the resort’s appearance remains orderly and professional at all times. The Resort Housekeeper will also communicate any unsafe or hazardous conditions promptly to management to uphold a safe environment for both guests and staff.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining washers and dryers, cleaning vents and filters, emptying trash containers, and performing other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of resort facilities. Candidates for this role should have thorough knowledge of general janitorial procedures, experience with cleaning large facilities or homes, and the ability to use common cleaning chemicals safely. Basic computer skills and a valid driver's license are also required to meet the job’s operational needs.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months in previous experience cleaning homes or other large facilities
  • demonstrated knowledge of general janitorial work
  • knowledge of safety measures when using various cleaning chemicals
  • abilities to lift at least 25 pounds
  • basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
  • must have a valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks areas with products as needed
  • ensures all tables and chairs are clean and functioning properly
  • cleans and sanitizes appliances to ensure they are free of food particles, mold and mildew and defrosts freezer as needed
  • cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, ensuring they are well lit and places rubber mats down to ensure safety
  • follows all established safety procedures and precautions and reports all unsafe or hazardous conditions, incidents, accidents, and/or defective equipment to their manager
  • ensures that the overall appearance of the resort, buildings and facilities are well maintained and orderly
  • ensures all floors are swept, vacuumed, mopped, waxed, and buffed as needed
  • ensures that all windows and screens are clean and functioning properly
  • maintains washers and dryers by wiping surfaces, removing lint, etc.
  • ensures all offices and buildings are clean and neat and empties trash containers as needed
  • ensures all vents and filters are cleaned and changed as needed
  • other duties as assigned
