The Residential Houseperson role is integral to the Mandarin Oriental, Boston Residences team. This full-time, permanent position is based within the Residences Department and involves maintaining the premium cleanliness and upkeep of all residential common areas including the lobby, elevators, mailboxes, and corridors. The Residential Houseperson is also tasked with cleaning individual residential units upon request. By adhering to Mandarin Oriental’s rigorous standards, the Residential Houseperson ensures that every area under their care reflects the impeccable quality expected by the brand and appreciated by residents and guests alike.

Reporting directly to the Residential Manager, the Residential Houseperson is responsible for detailed cleaning duties such as removing soiled linens and towels, disposing of trash, thoroughly cleaning bathrooms using approved supplies, organizing and replenishing amenities, making beds efficiently, and maintaining the cleanliness of windows, mirrors, carpets, furniture, vents, and baseboards. Additionally, the Residential Houseperson monitors for any defects or damages in guest rooms and public areas, promptly reporting these to the appropriate department to guarantee swift resolution.

Aside from cleaning, the role requires providing exceptional customer service via greeting and assisting residents and guests, promptly addressing any inquiries or requests, and supporting the overall positive atmosphere of the residences. This position is ideal for candidates with a minimum of one year’s experience in luxury hospitality housekeeping or a similar role who are driven by a passion for thoroughness, attention to detail, and delivering superior service in a demanding yet rewarding environment.
